About Us

Welcome to Whiteman Elementary, a proud member of the Knob Noster R-VIII School District serving Whiteman Air Force Base and the Knob Noster, Missouri communities.  Whiteman Elementary serves students that are entering grades K - 5 living on Whiteman Air Force Base.  Whiteman Elementary is a small community school that serves approximately 360 students.  Our teachers are highly qualified and strive to provide exciting and engaging curriculum and instruction that meets the needs of our 21st century learners.  We have a history of strong parent volunteer support in our school and look forward to meeting new families from around the world each year.

Whiteman Elementary houses four early childhood programs that are available to the Knob Noster R-VIII School District residents.

ECSE, the Early Childhood Special Education Program, is a free and public service provided by the Knob Noster School District and services children who are three years old to kindergarten age who meet eligibility under the IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).

Title 1 Preschool is for children ages four and five who are potty trained and have been determined to have developmental concerns that are noted on the screening process used to place students.  Our purpose is to overcome as many concerns as possible by involving children in developmentally appropriate activities and to enhance and empower parents to better teach their children.

Little Wingmen Preschool is for children ages three-five (but not eligible for Kindergarten) who are potty trained, have been screened, and who do not meet the qualifications for either Title I or ECSE programs. Our purpose is to provide a language and play rich, child-centered environment in which students may develop Kindergarten readiness skills. We also strive to share age appropriate activities that will empower parents to better teach their children.

PAT, Parents as Teachers, is a family education and support program that begins prenatal through age three.  It is a flexible program for all parents of young children and provides timely information on child development and neuroscience research.  The program involves parents in parent-child activities that encourage language, intellectual, social and motor development.
